So I got tagged by [livejournal.com profile] lexzilla.
Let's see.

1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people, and acknowledge who tagged you.

So my problem was, that from where I sit the nearest book are actually about a hundred books, so I had to figure out which is the nearest.

It was a close call between "Grundgesetz für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland" and "The Isles", which won.

Book: The Isles - A History
Author: Norman Davies

Ever since the early Christian monks of the Celtic Church set themselves the task of recording and adapting the achievements of Celtic paganism, a long line of Celtic antiquaries and scholars have devoted themselves to the same task right to the present day. Yet to admire the ancient Celts and their ways could not fail to carry an element of protest against the reigning English and Christian Establishment; and there have always been signs of sneaking admiration for the British rebels like Boudicca and Caractacus. In the late twentieth century, Celtomania has become an essential part of New Age neo-paganism.

So yeah, ahm ... not gonna tag anyone, but if you want go ahead an do it.

Sorry dor my spaming you today.

It's raining cats and dogs, literally.

I need to catch my train in half an hour. But that means I have to walk down to the station during the rain and I know, that I will be soaked to the bones when I arrive.
I hate rain.
ulysses3_de: (Kane/Carlson - oh jeez)
So apparently life hates me today.

First I actually decided to take the car to the train station. In the end I searched for 10 minutes for a parking space at the station, but in the end ended up at my parents, who live just round the corner of the station, where I should have parked from the beginning.
I had like 2 minutes left before the train came, so I jogged in the rain to catch it. Small favor on my side, the train had two minutes delay, but I still was wet from running.

And I'm going to kill Sascha this evening for calling me two minutes before I had to leave and he keept talking and suggesting I take the car.
I should have walked, then I wouldn't be so wet right now.

Then I came in to Stuttgart and hear that several of the trams don't work because of a lightning stroke.
And it's the best weather ever, with sunshine and everything.

Then I come to my office; the computer I normally work at is occupied, means I had to sit at another one. Sadly it didn't recognize my flash drive at first and the it did, but didn't show any of my files. Normally no big problem because most of the files are mirrored on the server. Alas SPSS didn't like working with that particular computer. So in the end I had to ask the person sitting at the other computer to change places with me.

Now that I've got a working PC the new SPSS 16 isn't working correctly. It randomly delets data I need to work with. *ARGH*
